Here’s How Each Personality Type Feels About Imagination

While some people cannot live their lives without imagination, others feel annoyed by unrealistic ideas. Here is how you feel about imagination, according to your personality type.

INFJ

INFJs have extremely active imaginations, which comes from their incredibly rich inner minds. Their imaginations can be kept inward most of the time though, and is hard for them to express to others. INFJs don’t let people in easily, even when they do it is difficult for people to grasp just how in depth their thoughts really go. Their minds are rich and active, and are filled with incredible imagination. INFJs may not always feel like they are very imaginative people, since they aren’t always capable of expressing this outwardly. In truth they have more imagination in one little finger than most people experience in a lifetime of thought.

ENFJ

ENFJs love imaginative people, and enjoy being around those who can appreciate their own imagination. ENFJs have rich and incredible inner worlds, which are nearly impossible for them to fully express to others. ENFJs can often utilize their imagination and creativity to excite others and even be excellent around children. ENFJs are definitely fans of imagination, and really dislike stagnancy and boring realities.

INFP

INFPs have very rich imaginations, with inner worlds that are filled with wonder. They enjoy being able to use this imagination and creativity to create and express themselves. It isn’t always easy for INFPs to share this with others, since being so vulnerable can be frightening. Even though INFPs aren’t always willing to let people view this part of them, they have incredible powerful imaginations. Their minds are so filled with new and exciting thoughts and ideas that they can sometimes even get lost inside of their own heads.

ENFP

ENFPs have incredible imaginations, which is why they are such unique and creative people. Their minds are filled with these amazing and rich thoughts and ideas, which is really hard for most people to follow. ENFPs sometimes feel odd to others, and will occasionally hide all of the amazing things that run through their minds. This is simply because they feel it would be impossible for most people to understand just how deep their imaginations can really go, wandering down the rabbit hole.

INTJ

While INTJs are logical people, this sometimes causes people to miss out on how vivid their imaginations can really be. The INTJ is often very creative and capable of a more artistic approach to things. They do favor logic and will always hold reason well above anything else, but in truth INTJs need this imagination to grasp the many different subjects and pieces of knowledge that they absorb. They are often skilled writers because of their imaginations, which draws people into their intense inner worlds.

ENTJ

ENTJs definitely enjoy a little imagination in their lives, as long as it doesn’t steer them off course. They do have many goals in life, and value efficiency above everything else. ENTJs utilize a little imagination and creativity in order to expand their knowledge and grow as people. They will certainly respect people with vivid imaginations, since they themselves have surprisingly rich inner worlds. At the same time ENTJs want to be able to remain focused on what is in front of them, so that they can work to build a better future for themselves and others.

INTP

INTPs have truly vivid and rich imaginations, and enjoy being able to think outside of the box. While other people might be stuck in one way of doing things, INTPs thrive when they are able to take on a completely unseen point of view. Their imaginations and intuition combine to make them rather unique and unbelievable complex people. Most don’t fully comprehend just how in depth the mind of the INTP really is, and this is why their thoughts patterns can be difficult to follow.

ENTP

ENTPs crave imagination and ingenuity in their lives, and love being able to think outside the box. They aren’t the types of people to follow the rules, and enjoy having their minds stretched in unusual ways. ENTPs definitely have vivid imaginations, which can occasionally get them into trouble. They simply don’t want to feel stagnant, and thrive when they are able to expand their reach and explore new and amazing possibilities.

ISTJ

ISTJs are very efficient people, who prefer to focus on getting things done. While they do have internal imaginations that can often surprise people, this isn’t something they express outwardly very often. They don’t want to let too many thoughts and ideas drag them away from what is truly important to them. ISTJs care about their family, and want to be able to provide for them. While others might be letting their thoughts carry them away, the ISTJ wants to remain focused on what is important, since they are responsible people.

ESTJ

ESTJs value efficiency, which often leaves little room for overwhelming imagination. They do utilize some creativity and ingenuity in order to get things done, and are capable of thinking outside of the box. ESTJs might have somewhat active imaginations, but at the same time they don’t let that control them. ESTJs want to be able to get the job done effectively, in order to ensure that the practical needs of their loved ones are well taken care of.

ISFJ

ISFJs are mostly focused on tending to the needs of others, and prefer to be responsible people. Allowing their imaginations to take control could really jeopardize their goals in life. ISFJs want to be there for the ones they love, and prefer to focus on practical things. Letting their thoughts run wild isn’t likely something that the ISFJ would find enjoyable. They aren’t completely lacking in creativity, they simply prefer to focus on that energy on something resourceful.

ESFJ

ESFJs definitely find themselves drawn to people who are extremely creative and have rich imaginations. They are often in awe of those people, and admire their ability to create and put themselves out there. ESFJs definitely do enjoy imagination, and often love being able to experience different worlds and realities. While some ESFJs might lack imagination themselves, they simply need someone who can bring out that side to their personality.

ISTP

ISTPs are analytical and reasonable people, who enjoy focusing on tangible things. They do have the ability to imagine things or think outside of the box, but too far can be frustrating for them. ISTPs become irritated with people who let their imaginations take control of them, and are incapable of viewing things form a logical and practical standpoint. ISTPs don’t mind a little imagination, but only if it doesn’t distract from the truth.

ESTP

ESTPs can sometimes get their thoughts stuck, and might become uneasy with too much imaginative thought. They enjoy creativity, but don’t want to let that keep them distracted from the real world. ESTPs are definitely caught up in the present moment, and can become frustrated by people who aren’t entirely realistic. They enjoy a little imagination in their lives, but ESTPs don’t like things that are too unreasonable or farfetched.

ISFP

ISFPs actually have rather rich imaginations and inner thoughts. They can sometimes keep this creativity and whimsy to themselves, since they are somewhat internal people. They have such in depth emotions that sometimes these feelings can be overpowering. ISFPs do enjoy imagination, and dislike anything that keeps them stuck in the same boring place. Being able to explore different ideas and fantasy thoughts, is something that excites the ISFP.

ESFP

ESFPs actually have rather rich imaginations and enjoy being able to experience new things. Their minds can bounce from one idea to the next rather quickly, which makes conversations with them sometimes a bit wild. ESFPs enjoy ideas and creative thoughts, especially if it focuses on something fun. While people sometimes see ESFPs as flighty, they often find themselves utterly surprised by their ability to create things with intense imagination.
