A layaway plan is a payment option for low-income buyers. It allows buyers to pay for an item in weekly and monthly installments after the deposit. A layaway plan ensures that the buyers will get their chosen merchandise once it is fully paid.

Layaway allows a customer to put a deposit on an item—like furniture or a computer—that the seller holds, typically in a store. The customer makes installment payments on it over time and can then pick up the item once the balance has been paid in full.

Keep in mind that in-store applications require you to present a valid government-issued photo ID. At the moment, there is no way to submit an Academy Credit Card application over the phone. The Academy Credit Card requires a credit score of 640, at a minimum. This means you need fair credit or better to get approved.
