We've seen a crazy rumor flying around that Coolmath Games is shutting down, but don't worry: There's no truth to it. The concern seemed to be about Flash games, because Flash has no longer been supported since the end of 2020. However, we've been totally focused on HTML5 games for years now.

Coolmath is part of a collection of websites that includes Coolmath Games and Coolmath4Kids. The main site -- Coolmath -- covers concepts for grades 6–12 including pre-algebra, algebra, and pre-calculus.

Coolmath is an old website filled with malware and spyware. Students previously used this website on the school equipment and it caused 70 laptops to crash. Equipment invested with viruses must be completely wiped and reformatted.

We want Coolmath Games to be a safe and enriching place for all who play. Our team goes the extra mile to ensure our games are appropriate for all ages and contain no adult content or mindless violence.

Because their original website is called Coolmath.com. Cool Math Games is their gaming website, and at any rate they do have math games, just that there are very few.

However, Cool Math Games confirmed that it would not be shutting down and was focusing on getting new HTML5 games and converting old Flash games to HTML5 after Adobe Flash reached its end-of-life in 2020.

Updated May 21, 2024: Since our original post, Sandbox Group has taken steps to make clear that CoolMathGames.com is not intended for children under the age of 13, and that children under 13 should instead use CoolMath4Kids.com.
